IACUC Administrators Best Practice Meeting An IACUC Administrators Best Practice Meeting will be held at the San Diego Zoo on May 30 and 31st, 2018. Attendance is limited to approximately 50 individuals, so follow the link above to secure your spot. See agenda details below. The IACUC Administrators Association (IAA) is a strong advocate for the animal care and use administrative community. The IAA was established in 2006 to facilitate the sustainable development of IACUC administrative professionals, and the ongoing advancement of institutions’ animal care and use programs (ACUP). The IAA provides administrators professional development opportunities primarily through IACUC Administrators’ Best Practice (BP) Meetings. BP meetings are facilitated by co-moderators with colleagues from OLAW, the USDA and AAALAC International present to participate in open discussions. BP meeting discussions, investigate and evaluate the specific mechanics of various ACUP processes. Below are specific topics that were discussed at past meetings. 1. Have you ever considered establishing MOUs using subcontracts that are executed through your grants management team? 2. Does your PAM program reduce regulatory burden for PIs, the IACUC and Administrators? 3. Do you effectively use the VVC process, or does it simply mimic the DMR process? 4. How do you conduct your program reviews and facility inspections? 5. When defining IACUC membership; what is implied through the statement that “no more than three members can be from the same administrative unit”?
